Once you go Flickr Pro, you can't go back

I had a Flickr Pro account for a good amount of time, until I let it expire late last year.

I'd go look at my photos every once and awhile and think... "I feel like I'm missing images"
So I finally renewed my "Pro" account and noticed that THOUSANDS of images were hidden.

Flickr's concept of "collections" are really cool. It adds another layer of grouping your photos. Collections are only offered if you upgraded to a Pro package. I assume what happened was that when I added my sets to the collections, and my Pro status expired, they just got hidden so I was basically blocked out of them.

I really like Flickr, but that sucks!

Pull over

So a coworker of mine came into the office a few minutes later than usual.

When he came in he showed us his ticket... a traffic ticket.

I was driving down #### #### drive (a very well known area for speed traps because it has long straight aways), when a motorcycle policeman behind me and his lights on.
I pulled over, got out of the car and walked to him.

What are you doing? Why are you walking this way? Do you have a weapon? Are you threatening me?

The police officer proceeded by overtaking my friend and taking him back to his car. After the officer made sure that my friend wasn't a threat, he released him and gave the ticket.
The poor guy. Overall, he's kind of new to the U.S. and previously lived in the bay area where he didn't need a car.

Monday meetings

There should be some kind of workplace rule to know to NOT schedule any early morning meetings/conference calls on a Monday. Everyone got onto the meeting relatively late and it didn't really get productive till a half hour into it.

Shrinkage

I'm really into t-shirts, but one big gripe is that they shrink so much when I put them into the dryer.

Now I feel like the ladies with the extra long torsos who always pull down their shirt.

long lazy break

Sheesh, I haven't typed up anything in awhile.

Work has been pretty busy. There are just so many things to learn here. I actually think the curve is too high for me. If anything, when I'm close to the top... I'll totally be confident on doing stuff on my own.

I heard life at the previous company isn't doing to well. Attrition rate is extremely high. I wasn't the cause, but sounds like I left at the right time. I've even been handing out resumes of my former colleagues to some friends I know. It's weird when I talked of one of them though, he was all about pay/title but yet his resume/experience didn't seem very strong. On the bright side, I think another guy should be getting an offer soon. Congrats to him!

On the photography side, the 5D is an amazing camera body. Just like everyone says, there's something about the color. Is it weird for me to admit how much I love shooting weddings. *knocks on wood* They've all been very happy occasions. Maybe it just makes me very reflective of mine.

The Hammer

Hmm... I hate it when a well thought out post gets lost due to some computer/browser failure. ARGH!!!

Friday, C & I went out with a few friends to watch The Hammer, starring Adam Corolla. I used to listen to Adam when he was on KROQ and many nights back when I listened to Love Line, but never got into his radio show when it just started.

This movie was great! I loved every minute of it. There was even a Q&A after the film with Adam himself. He answered a wide variety of questions and talked for like an hour. He's incredibly modest with his success and gave a lot of insightful information. He even talked about his dance tonight on Dancing with the Stars. I hope he doesn't get booted. =)

I didn't realize how tall he is.

Bigger and better!

I met up with my colleagues at my previous company last night. I really miss them, we were a really tight knit group. Everyone got along really well with one another and we even made efforts to hang out outside of work.

Ever since new mgmt came in, the company vibe isn't what it used to be. I've heard rumors about tests to valuate proficiency if your field. Managing by giving threats. What has happened!!!
People are leaving or contemplating on leaving. I've been contacted by a few of them to help keep my eyes out for positions they're interested in. The morale is at an all time low.

If it's any consolation to them who are bummed out about leaving, they should know that everyone who has moved on has gone on to start at a bigger and better place.
